Goal

Take learners from their first Devanāgarī letter to reading real Sanskrit literature and speaking freely — a logical, structured, and genuinely engaging path into one of the world's oldest and most precise languages.

Finding the Script and the Sentence

The vowels and consonant families of Devanāgarī are learned by point of articulation before writing begins, followed by conjunct consonants and first short words. Gender, number, and the essential pronouns (अहम्, त्वम्, वयम्) build toward live introductions, while verb roots, present-tense conjugation, and the Accusative case combine into the first real sentences. The stage closes with numbers, time, the five question words, and a Module 1 assessment reading a Devanāgarī passage aloud.

Mastering Tense and Case

The past tense arrives first in the third person, then becomes personal, joined by indeclinables that glue sentences into short stories. Sanskrit's seven cases follow in two parts — Nominative and Accusative revisited, then Instrumental, Dative, Ablative, Genitive, Locative, and Vocative — building to the complete eight-form declension table. The future tense completes the trilogy of tenses, prefixes reshape verb roots into new meanings, and learners read their first connected paragraph.

Reading, Speaking and the Final Celebration

Sandhi reveals how Sanskrit blends sounds across word boundaries, unsealing real lines from the भगवद्गीता. Adjective agreement, new noun families, and connective suffixes (क्त्वा, तुमुन्) let learners narrate their own daily routine. The course turns to the पञ्चतन्त्र, rereading fables as grammar detectives before reversing the flow — translating English into Sanskrit and speaking freely without notes. A full grammar review, a written assessment, and a farewell oral presentation of a self-written piece close twelve weeks of real, living Sanskrit.
